American Pancakes Recipe
   Serves: 8 | Prep time: | Cooking time: 150 Calories & 5.7g fat per serving.
  • 125g Plain Flour
  • 1 tsp Baking Powder
  • 2 tbsp Caster Sugar
  • 150ml Milk
  • 1 Egg
  • 2 tbsp Butter

If it’s nearly Shrove Tuesday, why not mix things up with my American Pancakes Recipe? Learning how to make American Pancakes from scratch is really easy and only requires 3 extra ingredients than regular pancakes.

  1. In a mixing bowl, sieve in the Plain flour then add the Baking Powder and Caster Sugar.
  2. Measure out the Milk into a separate jug then add in the Butter and crack in the Egg. Vigorously whisk for about 30 seconds.
  3. Add the contents of the jug into the mixing bowl of dry ingredients then whisk until you're left with a nice smooth batter.
  4. Heat a non-stick frying pan on a medium hob with a little Oil if needed.
  5. When hot, spoon in enough batter for one pancake then flip when the top begins to bubble.
  6. Cook on the other side for a similar time then serve with your favourite toppings.
