How to light a BBQ without lighter fluid

If you've run out of lighter fluid or lighter blocks and you need to light a barbecue, then you must try this really easy method on how to light a charcoal BBQ using just newspaper.

1. Ensure the charcoal BBQ is nice and clean.
2. Stand a glass bottle upright in the middle of the BBQ.
3. Roll two pieces of newspaper together so they’re nice and long and loosely wrap around the base of the bottle and tie.
4. Tie three lots of newspaper around the bottle whilst working your way up the bottle.
5. Pour charcoal around the base, up against the paper – making sure you have enough to cook with.
6. Carefully remove the bottle from the middle of the paper so you’re left with a paper chimney. Fill the chimney 1/3 full with charcoal then place a few large pieces of charcoal on top of the chimney.
7. Finally, light the newspaper from the base and leave to burn for 20-30 minutes. There’s no need to mix the charcoal whilst it’s lighting.
8. When it looks ready too cook on, mix the charcoal together and start cooking.
