How to Julienne Carrots

Here is my simple guide on how to Julienne Carrots. Be sure to check out the video below which demonstrates how it’s done.

To start with, chop the ends off the carrot then peel it using a vegetable peeler. Then cut it in half so it’s about 2 inches in length.

Now slice one of the edges off the carrot so it can be laid down flat (so it’s nice and secure). Then using a sharp knife, cut the carrot downwards into slivers.

Now, stack the slivers up and start slicing downwards again, this time in the other direction.

You should then be left with some thin strips of carrots. This method can also be used to julienne many other types of vegetables. Perfect for coleslaw and stir-fry’s.
