  • x1 Tin Chopped Tomatoes
  • x1 tsp Chilli Powder
  • 1/2 Large Onion or 1 Small Onion
  • x1 Garlic Clove
  • x1 tbsp Lime Juice
  • Handful Fresh Coriander

Directions

Salsa is great especially if you have guests coming around as it's perfect for dipping. What's more, it's really tasty and the number of calories in salsa is really low at only 28 calories and 0.4g fat per serving. Why not try this really simple recipe.

  1. Peel the Onion and Garlic then roughly chop - add to the food processor along with the Fresh Coriander.
  2. Add in the Lime Juice and Chilli Powder.
  3. Take a sieve, and drain the juice from the Tinned Tomatoes into a jug and set the juice aside for later. Then add the Tomatoes (not juice) to the food processor.
  4. Put the lid on and blitz the mixture until nice and smooth (or until it's at the consistency you want).
  5. Do a taste test. If more Lime, Chilli Powder or any seasoning is needed, at it here.
  6. Pour out the Salsa and if it's too thick, stir in some of the tomato juice you saved earlier to thin it out.

This recipe goes perfectly with my Nachos Recipe - enjoy!
